UPPSC CSAT PYQ papers

CSAT is qualifying — you need 66 of 200 (33%) — and a GS score does not count unless you clear it. Each CSAT paper in the series is a full 100-question Paper 2 in two hours, assembled from the 13 real CSAT papers so that its mix matches what the commission sets on average: comprehension passages in Hindi and English, interpersonal and communication skills, decision making, logical reasoning and mental ability, elementary (Class 10) mathematics, and general Hindi and English. Passages come whole, with all their questions together.

CSAT Paper 2100200 (2 each)2 hours−0.66 (one third)Qualifying, 33%

The series uses exactly these marks. Subject tests run at the GS paper's pace: 100 questions in 80 minutes.

Why practise UPPSC PYQs subject-wise?

  • UPPSC repeats itself. The same facts — a Mughal battle, an article of the Constitution, a river’s origin — come back in new wording. A subject-wise sitting puts fifteen years of one subject side by side, so the pattern is impossible to miss.
  • A year-wise paper tells you your total; a subject test tells you which subject is costing you marks. The report after each test breaks your accuracy down topic by topic.
  • Negative marking punishes guessing in weak areas. Practising 100 questions of one subject shows where your guesses pay off and where they lose marks.
  • It fits how you revise. Finish modern history, sit the History test the same week, and read the explanations for what you got wrong while the chapter is fresh.

A four-week plan with the 16 tests

  1. Week 1 — Polity 1 and History 1, plus CSAT 1 to find out early whether Paper 2 needs attention.
  2. Week 2 — Geography 1, Economy 1, Environment 1 and Science & Tech 1. Note the three weakest topics from each report.
  3. Week 3 — Revise those topics, then sit the six second tests and compare topic accuracy with the first attempt.
  4. Week 4 — CSAT 2–4 under strict two-hour timing, then a full year-wise GS paper to put it all together.

Economy has the fewest past questions (202 since 2011), so its two tests cover nearly every economy question UPPSC has asked.

How the papers are built

  • Every question is from a real UPPSC Prelims paper, 2011–2025, with its original four options and key.
  • Questions the commission cancelled are left out, and a question asked twice appears once.
  • Topics are mixed in the proportion UPPSC has actually set them, and every paper draws from all fifteen years.
  • No question appears in two papers: the 16 tests are 1,600 different questions.
  • Every paper is fixed, so your score and rank compare with everyone else who sat it.
  • Explanations and a topic-wise report open as soon as you submit.

Frequently asked questions

What are the UPPSC PCS subject-wise PYQ tests?+

They take the real questions from UPPSC Prelims General Studies Paper 1 (2011–2025) and CSAT Paper 2 and regroup them by subject into timed tests. Each subject test is 100 questions of one subject — History, Polity, Geography, Economy, Environment or Science & Technology — and each CSAT paper is a full 100-question Paper 2. There are 16 tests in all: 12 subject tests and 4 CSAT papers.

How much does each test cost?+

Each test uses one test credit, the same as any other test on AI Test Planet. A credit is ₹10, and less when you buy in bulk (₹9 each from 5 credits, ₹8 each from 10) on the pricing page. Your first test on the site is free, with the full performance report; the AI features come with any test you buy.

How many questions does UPPSC ask from each subject?+

Counted across the 15 GS Paper 1 papers from 2011–2025: History about 23 a paper, Polity about 19 a paper, Geography about 24 a paper, Economy about 13 a paper, Environment about 14 a paper, Science & Technology about 20 a paper. Current affairs and Uttar Pradesh-specific GK make up most of the rest of the 150.

Are these the same questions as the year-wise UPPSC PYQ papers?+

Yes — every question is a real UPPSC Prelims question, and the year-wise papers stay available on the UPPSC page. What the subject-wise tests add is the arrangement: 100 questions of one subject in one sitting, drawn from every year, so you can see how the commission asks a subject over fifteen years and where you personally lose marks.

What marking scheme do the tests use?+

The commission's own. Subject tests: +1.33 for a correct answer and −0.44 for a wrong one (GS Paper 1 is 150 questions for 200 marks, with a third of a question's marks deducted for a wrong answer), 80 minutes for 100 questions — the real paper's pace. CSAT papers: +2 / −0.66, 2 hours, and 66 of 200 marks (33%) to qualify.

Will I see the same question twice?+

No. All 16 tests are built as one set with no shared question — 1,600 different questions. Questions the commission cancelled (dropped) are left out.

What do I get after each test?+

Your score under UPPSC marking, a detailed explanation for every question, and the AI performance report with your accuracy broken down topic by topic, so you know exactly which areas to revise before the next test.
